Dada! Animation has officially kicked off the scientific phase of its ANR “Animation Conductor” project!

In collaboration with the LIX laboratory (École Polytechnique) and IRISA (University of Rennes), the studio welcomed six researchers and PhD students for an inspiring launch event: Damien Rohmer, Pascal Guehl, Xianjin “Xavier” Gong, as well as Marc Christie, Théo Gérard, and Pierre Héllier.

About the ANR project

This three-year-long study aims to develop an open-source prototype for 3D animation editing, leveraging voice and gesture control. The project addresses significant mathematical and engineering challenges, such as analyzing gestures and sounds captured via video or VR, linking them to specific animation parameters (rhythms, amplitudes, etc.), and enabling meaningful adjustments based on these inputs—all under the animator’s guidance.
